This is my own recipe and I must say it is seriously good.
While I believe that your hair is your most important accessory and that all women are inherently beautiful when accessorized well (shoes are second as people will top to bottom you in a flash), we as women do what we can to take care of our complete selves. Most of us try to eat well and exercise when our busy lives permit. If you are as much a chocoholic and a peanut butterofphile as am I, here is something tasty just for you and at only 153 calories WITH the icing. This will also provide you with a whopping 10.6 grams of protein. Without the icing you’ll still get 10 grams of protein and only 100 calories!
One half ripe banana
One half teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons egg beaters
Mix together in a separate bowl and then add to the wet ingredients and mix well:
2 tablespoons PB2
1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder (depending on how chocolatey you like it. I like it dark and chocolatey so I use Hershey’s special dark and I use 2 tablespoons)
1 to 2 tablespoons of Splenda
One half teaspoon of baking powder
Place in a large custard dish or a small microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute to 1 minute and 20 seconds. Allow to cool before icing the cake.
Make a note of your timing and what size container it’s in because you will want to make this again.
2 tablespoons fat-free vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon PB2
Splenda if needed to taste
I apologize for not having a picture of this cake iced but I did not have the ingredients to ice it here today. It can be topped with fresh berries or whatever you like. Pictures next to a couple of items to show you what the size looks like.
So, over the past year I’ve been lazy about the weights and diet and got a little “paunchy”. After a few false starts, I have been back at it for a month and have dropped almost five of the few I need to to feel great and I am gaining back some muscle.
I confess that I have a particular weakness for peanut butter. I mean just give me a spoon, a knife or a finger and a jar of it. I have it bad One day I saw a recipe on a friend’s Facebook that used peanut butter powder. What sorcery is this I wondered? This prompted me to do some research and I am now totally hooked on this stuff in this brand. I love it as part of a spicy Chinese sauce for a chicken salad among many things.
Okay, need to get back to Amazon and order some more…lol
Ah, gorgeous, healthy avocados. I put a tree in the backyard around five years ago. Last year I got the first fruit and it was only about seven avocados. This year the thing went crazy. While “storing” avocados on the tree is best because they will not soften while they are there, I woke up one morning to about ten that had fallen on their own. TEN. What do I do with TEN avocados all getting soft at the same time? There are only two of us two legged people living here.
I love avocados. I really do but I can’t see myself eating them for every meal. Anything can get old. Here are a few things you can do with an over abundance of avocados whether you grow them or you find them soft and cheap at your local grocery store…
Body moisturizerThe natural oils in an avocado can penetrate deep into the skin, helping to soften and hydrate dry and flaky patches. Simply spread it across your body, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, shower or bathe in lukewarm water and pat dry.
Sunburn pain Most of us LOVE the beach until we wake up the next morning with a sunburn. Ease pain and prevent chafing by applying avocados directly to the spot.
Reduce wrinkles Use a Haas avocado to whip up an antioxidant and amino acid-rich mask that will target fine lines, crow’s feet and other signs of aging.
Nourish dry facial skin Try a facial mask made from avocado, raw honey and yogurt to slough away dead skin cells and restore a more youthful glow to your face.
Condition your hair Try an avocado, olive oil and egg hair mask. Sure, it’s pretty sticky, but you won’t regret slathering it on when you end up with super smooth and luminous strands.
I have been the lucky recipient of this horrible flu going around this year and that is in part why I have not been here much at all. I happened to catch an old movie yesterday. The First Wives Club. Though this was made back in 1996, Goldie Hawn had the best hair. Loved it so had to go search for pictures. Great shape and beautiful color. Soft and touchable. These things never go out of style.
It was such a gorgeous day in the Arden Fair area of Sacramento today. This is the salon (Hair Formations) in which I practice my craft in Sacramento. Parked on the left is Ruby my favorite mode of transport to work and home on beautiful days. Or any days as long as there is no rain…lol
